Abstract

Abstract

In this paper, it is aimed to analyse Evangelical movement (not Evangelist) first in terms of conceptual framework then difference between the concepts, namely Evangelist-Evangelic, which are closely related and confused in Turkish and English usage. Its origins and historical process, basic faiths of followers, political ideological structures and number of followers are among the subjects of this paper. Southern Baptist Evangelical movement is especially the centre of this paper because of the fact that it is a strong movement in terms of religion, politics and economics in USA. This paper is written using printed and visual sources, especially survey studies conducted in universities and churches, interviews and particular talks in USA.
