Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to conduct a preliminary research on whether lean production can be implemented in food companies operating in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş. In this study, 108 of the 190 food manufacturing companies on both province were reached. Survey method was used in the research, this survey has been applied to sub-level, mid-level and senior managers, engineers and research-development officers who are involved in the production operation of the companies. For the purpose of the study, 11 hypotheses were constructed. The obtained data were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analyzes, descriptive analyzes of variables and correlation analysis. As a result of these analyzes, hypotheses have been tested and a number of recommendations have been made to the firm that operate in the end result food sector. The most general conclusion is that participants have a positive perception of lean production and that lean production can easily be implemented in the food sector.
