Abstract

Abstract

This study focuses on the reflection of historical metafiction method to the photography practice and its sample works which is opened to a wide field of application with the help of postmodern literature. When the historical metafiction, which we have seen in the field of literature and film, is taken into consideration in the context of memory studies, it can be seen that photography is used in strategies such as memory or historical reconstruction in this area. In artistic studies, where subjective narratives have grown, along with the crisis of representation and postcolonial criticism, the photograph is often used in historical metafiction, due to the availability of techniques such as re-enactment, re-constructing and re-photographing. In this context, the study also examines how photography's discourse of reality has changed with historical metafiction and how it is used in the methods of representation techniques.
