Tanzanya’da Yabancı Dil Olarak Türkçe ve İngilizce Öğretiminde Karşılaşılan Sorunların Karşılaştırılması Ve Çözüm Önerileri Denemesi

Abstract

Araştırmada yabancı dil olarak İngilizce öğretiminde ve Türkçe öğretiminde öğretmenlerin yeterlilik algılarının, öğretim sürecinde sahip oldukları avatantajların, dezavantajların ve karşılaştıkları zorlukların saptanması ve karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Tanzanya ülkesi Zanzibar şehrinde ortaokul ve lise seviyesindeki okullarda yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğreten 10 Türkçe öğretmeni ve 10 İngilizce ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada yapılan görüşmelerde elde edilen yanıtlar betimsel analiz yöntemi ile nitel olarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Türkçe öğretiminde karşılaşılan fiziksel zorlukların İngilizceye kıyasla daha fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu zorlukların Türkçe dilini pekiştirecek bir sosyal ortamın olmaması, kaynakları sınırlı kalması ve öğrencilerin motive olması için uygun şartların sağlanmamasının geldiği saptanmıştır.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine and compare the teachers' perceptions of proficiency, their avatars, disadvantages and difficulties in teaching English as a foreign language and teaching Turkish. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 Turkish teachers and 10 English teachers teaching Turkish as a foreign language in secondary and high school level in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview form. The responses obtained in the interviews were analyzed qualitatively by descriptive analysis method. As a result of the research, it was determined that the physical difficulties encountered in teaching Turkish were more than English.
